Halden had great beans and forgettable bags. We rebuilt the identity around a single loud mark and a packaging system that tells you how each roast tastes before you open it.

The brief

Halden roasts some of the best coffee in Porto, but on a crowded shelf its kraft bags disappeared. The founders wanted a brand that felt as bold as the coffee tasted — without losing the warmth regulars loved.

What we made

A heavy, slightly wonky wordmark, a flavour scale printed on every bag and a palette that changes with each origin. The café menus, cups and website all use the same scale, so customers learn the language once.

“People now pick the bag up before they read the name. That never used to happen.” — Marta Lopes, Founder, Halden Coffee Co.
